Ludwig von Sallmann Clinician-Scientist Award

The ARVO Foundation for Eye Research established an award in recognition of Ludwig von Sallmann, MD, a distinguished international ophthalmologist and ophthalmic investigator whose contributions greatly increased the basic and clinical understanding of vision and ophthalmology.

Award recipients will present a lecture at a scientific session, symposium or minisymposium at the ARVO Annual Meeting and receive an inscribed plaque and a cash award. There is no application process for this award; session organizers identify potential recipients who are young clinician-scientists. A selection committee evaluates and selects the recipient.
